Healing Touch

Healing is a fascinating process which is generally poorly understood. Although it may be tempting to believe that we can heal other people, it is of utmost importance to realize that all healing is self-healing. The body has an extraordinary intelligence and ability to heal itself. Given the right energetic, emotional, nutritional, and spiritual environments, the natural state of the body is perfect health. Our favorite definition of a healer is someone who was sick and got well; a great healer is someone who was very sick and got well quickly.

Although all healing is self healing, we can assist other people heal with their own healing process. As one becomes full of positive healing energies, eventually he/she over-flows and can not help but share the love. Then he/she is able to assist in the healing of another.

Life-force energy (known as “chi” in Chinese and “prana” in Sanskrit) is used to facilitate healing. Using body awareness and breathing technique we can focus and amplify healing energy.

With the principles of resonance and entrainment, life-force energy becomes an effective tool for healing . In physics, entrainment theory is the process where two vibrating objects, vibrating at different speeds, start to vibrate at the same speed when energy is transferred between the two objects. Entrainment shows up in chemistry, neurology, biology, and medicine and occurs in all interactions with life.

Using various techniques, we can create a higher frequency of life-force energy. If we place this field of high energy around an area of pain, stress, inflammation, or disease, the body will entrain to the higher frequency, thus amplifying the body's ability to heal itself. This provides healing energy for the practitioner as well as for the person seeking healing. It is a feedback loop which amplifies and grows; rather than becoming drained from doing healing work, the practitioner will most often feel emotionally uplifted as a result!

While there are several different techniques that may be learned as a practitioner, everyone has the ability to heal themselves as well as assist others in self-healing. We need not any professional schooling to become a healer. Quite simply, by holding and transferring a positive and warm energy we are able to share the healing process with one another. Do not inhibit the flow of energy. A river that flows consistantly bears clean water full of vitality. Build a dam and eventually a stagnant pool forms. Such is the flow of healing energy. To benefit the most, its best to give as much as we take to keep the flow moving consistantly. Put simply, share the love!

Many of us exchange blissful healing energies every day. Strong bonds with people and healthy relationships heighten the ability to self-heal. For me, healing is the most important aspect of living. No matter how healthy an individual is, there is always room for healing. The potential is limitless.

I believe that there is a growing world-wide awareness of the importance of love and healing. We are now learning and more willing to open our hearts, dissolve boundaries and share healing touch with one another. We are re-learning the art of love, and it is spreading. It is our destiny to be fully healed; to love and be loved. It is as nessesary for the health of our souls as oxygen is vital to our living being.
